Last week when I was about to start my shift, an older woman who had just finished her receiving shift asked if I knew where the shopping squad leader was. So, I knew who she was and where she was, so I brought her over to her. She said (to the poor, already tired squad leader).."Will there be someone managing the line"?
The squad leader replied "Maybe, if I can find someone".
The woman said "Well, you really need to get those people to stand in line properly"
The squad leader replied "Nowone is listening tonight, must be the barometric pressure", and then rolled her eyes and walked away.
The woman went on a tirade about how the express line was wrapping around the end-caps and that was unacceptible line practice and was creating a bottleneck around the area at the end of each aisle. She said that once people get in that formation its very difficult to get them out of it so someone needed to stand there the entire time and keep people in the correct position.
Well, I've done software project management for a few years now, maybe I can qualify as the next Park Slope Food Co-op Line Manager?! What a nice job!

Frozen Vegetables
Last month I was working my shift, when I overheard two women who were stocking vegetables. One said to the other, " I just don't know where any of these go, I never buy frozen vegetables...I always buy fresh!"
The second woman said back to the first (with a guilty tone), "Well, I know where they go...I do have to buy them sometimes..."
I wanted to walk right up to them and say, "Well, I have no f-ing clue where they go because I buy chinese takeout every night!"
